Mike Holden of rural Scranton has suspended his candidacy for county supervisor from District 3, the seat now held by Tom Contner.
Holden learned the day after announcing his candidacy that although a portion of his farm property is in District 3, his home is not. Holden lives in District 2, which is now represented by Dawn Rudolph.
“At this time I would rather have been a colleague of Dawn Rudolph than face her as an opponent in an election,” Holden said.
Holden said he appreciates the many comments of support after making the announcement.
